Job Description
Deseret Cattle & Citrus is seeking a responsible and efficient Fuel Truck Driver to join our local team. The Fuel Truck Driver will deliver a variety of fuels to the 16 Units and other locations across the ranch. They will also assist in maintaining equipment in the field to minimize downtime and maximize equipment efficiency.
Responsibilities: • Fuel, check/add fluids, and service ranch equipment to ensure readiness for operations in the most cost-effective and timely manner.
• Maintain the most efficient driving route to complete the fueling and lubing in accordance with the field operation plan.
• Record fuel usage for each piece of equipment and keep an accurate written fuel log for equipment that does not have the "fuel-lock" system.
• Ensure all equipment on the truck is working properly.
• Keep an eye out on the equipment for any potential mechanical problems and report to management with recommended corrective actions.
• Assist with security and overall appearance of the equipment and shop.
• Keep tools, equipment, and vehicles clean and organized.
• Champion a world-class safety culture by attending all trainings, positive promotions, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies and ranch policies.
Qualifications: • Must have or be able to obtain a Commercial Drivers License. If they do not have a valid CDL, preference is that the person has had one in the past.
• High school diploma and at least 21 years old. Trade school/professional certifications strongly desired.
• 4+ years of relevant experience, preferably in farm equipment maintenance.
• Valid Class B license with clean driving record and ability to obtain HazMat, Tank and Air Brake endorsements within 60 days of hire.
• Ability to maintain a current Medical Examiner Card (DL-51).
• Understanding of equipment and safe operating requirements (PTO, Fuel Master Equipment, Fuel Metering System) of all tools and equipment.
• Strong demonstrated communication, positive attitude, and teamworking skills.
• Proficiency in math and general competency with computers, including ability to use MS tools and learn proprietary programs/systems.
• Able to meet the physical requirements of the role which includes bending, stooping, walking, sitting, repetitive motions of hands/wrists, as well as carrying and lifting 50lbs occasionally.
• Able to work in the external environmental conditions (rain, heat, cold, etc) and work standing for 10+ hours per day. Shift may include afterhours, holidays and weekends.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and will be subject to random drug testing throughout the duration of employment.
• Position is based on regular farm schedule of 55-60 hours per week, including shift work to meet business needs.
