Job Description

Summary of Job Purpose:
-This position is responsible for manufacturing processes including their definition, development,
documentation, implementation, skills requirement, capital equipment, tooling requirement and floor
layout. Day‐to‐day support of the Production floor to analyze production issues and provide effective
solutions to achieve manufacturing goals. Active concurrent engineering engagement and collaboration with
Product Design and the Quality Engineering teams to support development of new products and for
resolution of issues with existing production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
‐ Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods.
‐ Daily support and interaction with production team to address issues that are holding up production.
‐ Daily disposition of non‐conformances, action requests and items in MRB.
‐ Process the assigned Engineering Change Orders.
‐ Provide re‐work instructions, manufacturing process revisions and tooling designs.
‐ Work with the Planning and Inspection staff to facilitate production.
‐ Assist and drive production flow improvement.
‐ Conduct time studies for verification of std. labor time.
‐ Analyze proposed requests for cost reduction or necessity for operation
‐ Analyze cost reduction possibilities and develop cost reduction proposals
‐ Develop cost comparison of present and proposed methods
‐ Implement cost reductions and follow up to assure attainment
‐ Work with suppliers to obtain equipment quotes
‐ Prepare CapEx justification/ROI.
‐ Utilize structured problem‐solving tools such as 5‐Why, Fishbone and 8D for RCCA.
‐ Support the Quality Engineering team for the creation of PFMEA and Control Plans.
‐ Support the Product Design team for Manufacturability (DFM).
‐ Other duties as assigned.
