Job Description

One of the largest real estate development companies in New England is looking to add a Senior Accountant to a growing team. You will be responsible for the financial accounting for a portfolio of commercial properties. This is an incredible opportunity to continue to develop and also learn new skills at a company that values personal growth and longevity.

In this role you will:

• Oversee financial operations for assigned properties, including tenant interaction, general ledger accuracy, and monthly reporting.
• Analyze financials, create GAAP statements, and reconcile accounts (balance sheet, P&L).
• Handle daily/monthly tasks like wire transfers, cash projections, and invoice payments.
• Process fees, payables, monitor security deposits, and prepare bank reconciliations.
• Review expenses, explain variances, generate reports per lender/authority requirements.
• Analyze accruals, reconcile subsidiary reports, and prepare budgets/year-end reconciliations.
• Work with internal teams to gather information and assist with audits.
• Provide top-notch support to internal and external clients.
• Perform other assigned tasks.

This role is hybrid/onsite in downtown Boston with the possibility of fully remote depending on skills and experience. Candidates local to the Boston area will be given preference.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years of property accounting experience.
• Proficiency in property management software (Yardi is a huge bonus!).
• Strong communication & analytical skills.
• Enthusiasm to learn new skills and take on tasks as needed.
