ACARA Solutions and our client in Greensboro, NC have a contract to direct hire position available.

Sr. Quality Engineer

Position Overview:

As a Senior Quality Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting our nation's heroes by developing and upholding rigorous quality assurance protocols for transforming raw materials into finished products. You will take ownership of the quality function in one or more production environments, shaping methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating production processes, equipment, and final products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Assurance Design & Implementation: Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols for material processing into finished products.
  • Inspection & Testing: Design and refine methods for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of production processes, equipment, and end products.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze production data and trends to suggest updates or changes to quality standards and procedures. Generate and review metrics to ensure quality objectives are met.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Review documents, drawings, and instructions to ensure compliance with requirements. Verify adherence to defined quality standards.
  • Problem Resolution: Address and resolve issues of moderate complexity. Compare defects against standards, recommend corrective actions, and verify the implementation of rework.
  • Auditing & Corrective Actions: Conduct audits, assign corrective actions, and verify their implementation. Participate in technical and peer reviews.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, program management, and other quality personnel. Engage with project leaders and contribute actively to project teams.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven experience in quality engineering, with a strong understanding of quality assurance protocols and production processes.
  • Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Education: Relevant technical degree or equivalent experience.

Working Conditions:

  • Works under general supervision with occasional contact with project leaders and other professionals.
  • Regular interaction with multiple workgroups and disciplines within the Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality departments.

Job Requirements

Required Skills / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science or Mathematics.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in quality engineering.

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree.
  • Solid engineering knowledge (i.e., software, electrical, systems, etc.) methodologies, tools, and standards.
  • Solid knowledge of ISO 9001:2008, CMMI, ISO 14001 ASME, ANSI, EIA, etc.
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid skills in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions.
  • Solid ability to recognize and report relevant to sound quality engineering practices.
  • Solid knowledge of interpretation of drawings.
  • Solid skills in reviewing documents/drawings/instructions for conformance to requirements techniques.
  • Solid skills in reporting quality activities, findings, and issues in writing and verbally.
  • Solid interpersonal skills.
  • Solid knowledge of using relevant inspection/measurement tools and techniques.
  • Solid computer skills, both desktop software and required factory or engineering tools.
  • Outstanding communication skills to work proactively with a project team and interact with customers.
  • Ability to think creatively and multi-task.
